15 (more) Questions for Evolutionists, Answered!

Image
Since our response to Genesis Apologetics' 25 Questions for Evolutionists , we discovered that Creation Ministries International offers its own pamphlet of questions for evolutionists . While Genesis Apologetics' list was intended for early college students in biology and earth science classes, CMI's is "...made available to concerned individuals and churches who wish to help spread awareness of this greatly censored information." While there is some overlap in the questions asked (with some of them even using the exact same wording), the CMI pamphlet provides more information per question and references original content that dives into the questions in more depth. We wanted to offer a charitable response that's thorough and fair, to help anyone who may want specific answers to this set of questions. The list itself is as follows:     1. How did life originate?     2. How did the DNA code originate?     3. How could mutations - accidental copying mistakes (...

The Loma Linda Study: A Forgotten Piece in the Paluxy Narrative

Image
Cross-section of a genuine dinosaur track obtained by Loma Linda University in the 1970s, showing evidence of compression just below the surface, which is absent in carved tracks (c. Neufeld, Origins , 1975) I wanted to share a brief post about a study completed by Loma Linda University in the 1970s on the controversial Paluxy tracks. (Check out the articles here and here for a brief summary of some of the key notes on the Paluxy controversy, or Glen Kuban's summaries here and here for a more detailed look). The current narrative among supporters of the Paluxy human-track interpretation is that the evidence of the track's "human-ness" is strong evidence against the theory of evolution and that those holding to atheistic evolution reject the clear evidence of the tracks being human because of their philosophical presuppositions. Revival: The Kolbe Center and the Paluxy Human Footprint Claims

Photo from G. Kuban's October 2022 Taylor Trail excavation (c. Noah Edmonds) Last week's article  briefly went over the history of the human footprint controversy in the Paluxy River of Glen Rose, Texas, and mentioned that Glen Rose and the Paluxy are both places of special interest in my life for personal and professional reasons. If you'd like a more detailed history of the controversy, check out Glen Kuban's summaries that flesh out the story from first-hand experience. (Kuban, 2022b, 2022c) The original argument was that human and dinosaur footprints had been found together in the riverbed - a belief held to by the townsfolk in the early 1900s based on misinterpreted elongated metatarsal dinosaur tracks . This view would be adopted by several prominent groups in the emerging contemporary young earth creationist movement as proof that humans and dinosaurs lived at the same time, bolstering their interpretation of the Biblical narrative.
